That's a long essay and it doesn't start on a promising note with the headline 'Why Mubarak is Out'. Not sure about the rest of his analysis either. A lot of people seem to have bought in to the idea that the military is not part of Mubarak's military regime. In reality, especially after last night's events, it seems like the military is playing the 'good cop' to the goons' 'bad cop'.

Even Mubarak says Mubarak is out. As for the rest, totalitarian regimes are usually made up of multiple elements with their own interests.
