Former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq al-Hariri was killed by a car bomb in Beirut
. It's too early to really know anything, but this is a big development in that al-Hariri remained politically active as an opponent of Syrian occupation. Could Syria be trying to intimidate the Lebanese opposition even as it works to stave off international pressure to withdraw? In Lebanon, the easy answers aren't always right.
