Steve Gilliard at Daily Kos has reported on
an Iraqi cell phone controversy. There are two cell phone protocols in the world: GSM, which most of the world uses, and CMDA, which the U.S. has. A Bahraini firm has been establishing a GSM network in Iraq, but the U.S. stopped it, apparently to leave the door open for an American firm to install a CMDA system. And people wonder why some don't trust our intentions...
